Shoreline Walks Free Community Walks Program

Explore neighborhoods, parks and trails on some of the best walking routes in our City. Designed for adults ages 50+ but open to all ages and abilities, each walk is led by a Volunteer Walk Leader and all walks are free. No need to sign up, just show up at the meetup location and we'll take care of the rest! Friendly dogs on a leash are welcome to join.

CRISTA History Walk
After an introduction to the old Firland Sanitarium which occupied the site before CRISTA, we will head up the hill and through a neighborhood to the CRISTA complex. We will walk past the 30 or so CRISTA buildings with six stops to learn about CRISTA history. Some buildings date back to 1913. Afterwards we will loop around the Hillwood neighborhood on our way back to our start.
Walk Rating: Moderate (One steep hill at the beginning.)
Walk is approximately 3.5 miles / 2.5 hours (Only 2.5 miles via a shortcut back to the start after the CRISTA tour.)
Meet: near the south end of the Shoreline Park and Ride:  192th and Aurora.
