Below are many programs that provide a variety of support and assistance to Shoreline residents. Additional resources may also be available by contacting King County 2-1-1, which keeps a comprehensive list of community services. Call 2-1-1 Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm or search the 2-1-1 Community Resources Online (CRO).
Housing
North Helpline Financial Assistance Program
To help keep people in their homes, the Financial Assistance program has limited funds available to prevent evictions and utility shut offs. King County Eviction Prevention and Rent Assistance Program (EPRAP)
Helps landlords and tenants behind in rent and utility payments due to unemployment, lost wages and health crises as a result of COVID-19. For eligibility and program details, go to the Eviction Prevention and Rent Assistance Program webpage, email dchsrentalassistance@kingcounty.gov or call 206-477-1331.
King County Housing Authority (KCHA) - Section 8
KCHA provides rental housing and assistance to a sustainably number of families in King County. Their quality, affordable housing supports health and self-sufficiency with the different programs. Apply for housing assistance.
Hopelink Rent Assistance
Hopelink can help pay your rent during a time of financial need. If you are experiencing a short-term financial crisis due to unexpected expenses – such as medical bills, auto repair or loss of income – Hopelink may be able to help you pay one month’s rent so that you are able to stay in your home. In addition to preventing eviction, Hopelink's Financial Assistance program may be able to help with move-in costs. Appointments are currently being conducted by phone 206-440- 7300.

Provides resources for renters, including tenant rights, neighbor disputes, eviction, and housing discrimination. The Tenant Rights Hotline assists with questions about landlord-tenant laws and discuss strategies to prevent housing loss: 206-723-0500.
Eastside Legal Assistance Program (ELAP)

Provides no cost civil legal aid. Contact the intake line at: (425) 747-7274 to access services. Leave a message with your name and phone number, along with a brief description of your legal issue. Someone will return your call within 48 hours.
King County Bar Association Neighborhood Legal Clinics
Neighborhood Legal Clinics website
The legal clinics are FREE 30-minute consultations with an attorney at 34 locations across King County, including locations specializing in debt, bankruptcy, and family law issues. Attorneys determine whether the client has a legal problem, suggest possible options, and provide appropriate referrals. NLC attorneys will not represent you in court. NLC is a limited legal service and should not be considered a substitute for representation.

WA State Department of Commerce Landlord Mitigation Programs
Landlord Mitigations Programs website
Low-income landlords can receive up to 80% of unpaid rents, $5,000 for repairs made to damage caused by a subsidized tenant and up to $1,000 plus up to 14 days of rent loss for making repairs required to pass an HQS inspection for subsidy. Program runs from March 1,2020 through December 31, 2021 – Program is ongoing
Affordable Housing Opportunities Guide
If you are looking for an apartment, the guide includes a list of apartments in Shoreline with units that are less than market rate, such as rent or income restricted affordable housing, like Multifamily Property Tax Exemption (MFTE). The guide explains how to determine your income eligibility. Contact the apartments directly to ask whether they have affordable units available.

The North Helpline foodbank has two locations in Lake city and Bitter Lake. They offer food and hygiene products for neighbors in need, for members of the community who cannot come in person to the foodbank, they can sign up for home delivery

International Community Health services
ICHS offers medical services including infant and well child checkups, immunizations, health screenings and women’s health. In addition, they offer full dental care, eye care and behavioral health.
