Community involvement is key to ensuring safe neighborhoods and recovery from a disaster. First responders (police, fire and ambulance services) will not be able to meet the extraordinary demand for services immediately following a catastrophic event. While we are normally able to call 911 and have our needs met quickly, in a disaster situation this may not be the case. Working together as a community will help ensure that everyone's needs are met.
