Overview and History
This project provided two routes (northern and southern) to connect Shoreline’s section of the regional Interurban Trail to Lake Forest Park and the Burke-Gilman Trail. The trail connections are a combination of signage, sharrows and separated paths to provide the east-west routes for these important regional trails. Specific work included:
- Bike lanes/rechannelization/sharrows/signage along the routes. Wayfinding signage indicating the routes are connections between the Interurban Trail and Burke Gilman Trail.
- Pedestrian improvements on NE 150th Street.
- If funding is available, construction of an 8-10 foot wide multi-purpose trail on unimproved city right-of-way at NE 152nd Street and Ashworth Avenue N.
The project built upon already completed bike lanes and separated trail segments previously completed or planned for construction.
- Bike lanes along NE 155th Street from 5th Avenue NE to 15th Avenue NE
- Bike lanes along NE 150th Street from 15th Avenue NE to 25th Avenue NE
Notices were sent to Neighborhood Associations in October 2017 to discuss the project and parking impacts on NE 150th St and NE 155th St.
