Status
As of October 2024
Phase: Preliminary Design
In order to maintain City streets to the highest average condition rating with the funds available, we construct pavement preservation projects on an annual basis. Sections of NW 200th Street and Greenwood Avenue N will receive asphalt overlays in 2025 as part of Annual Road Surface Maintenance program. Asphalt overlays generally return the pavement to full structural capacity and can extend its service life by 12 to 20 years.
Preliminary work in November 2024
Beginning in November 2024, we are starting preliminary work on NW 200th Street and Greenwood Avenue N to prepare for the 2025 Pavement Preservation Project. We will be testing the roadway’s condition by taking core samples of the pavement.
This work will take approximately 4 days. Construction impacts will include temporary single lane closures. Driveway access will be maintained. Traffic delays are possible during peak traffic hours.
Public notification postcards were mailed to residents located with 500 feet of the NW 200th Street and Greenwood Avenue N work sites on October 25, 2024.
Locations

Timeline
- Preliminary Design: Summer/fall 2024
- Preliminary pavement testing: November 2024
- Final Design: Winter 2024/2025
- Construction: Spring/Summer 2025
Possible construction impacts
Construction will include milling pavement before overlaying with asphalt, which can create significant construction noise. We will need to close at least one lane of the roadways temporarily during construction with the possibility of a full closure of the construction area for short periods. Impact on travel lanes will be determined during design and we will notify the public if a full closure becomes necessary.
Tree impacts
We do not anticipate any significant tree impacts for this project.
