Stormwater Pipe Repair and Replacement Project

The Surface Water Utility uses the Surface Water Master Plan (SWMP) to plan Capital Improvement Projects that improve the City's stormwater drainage system. During the Surface Water Master Plan planning process, the Surface Water Utility reviews potential Capital Improvement Projects identified through stream basin plans, infrastructure condition assessments, drainage assessments, and other inspection programs. The Surface Water Utility prioritizes Capital Improvement Projects based on how well they resolve significant Surface Water issues, create equitable investments and infrastructure across the City, and ensure the City meets all State and Federal regulatory requirements.

After the prioritization process, prioritized Capital Improvement Projects are recommended in the Surface Water Master Plan. These high-priority projects are then incorporated into the City's 6-year Capital Improvement Plan. Sometimes unplanned, high-priority projects emerge, such as a culvert in poor condition that threatens the stability of a road. The Surface Water Utility develops plans for these unplanned, high-priority projects and implements them during the next 6-year Capital Improvement Plan.
