Schedule a Building/Mechanical/Plumbing Inspection Online

Please note that as of Monday August 5, 2024, the City will no longer provide courtesy phone calls on the morning of your inspection. 

Fill out the form below or call the Inspection Request Line (206) 801-2545 to request an inspection. Inspectors try to respond within 24 hours on normal business days. 

You will need to specify the date of the inspection, the permit number, type of inspection, site address, a contact name and phone number where you can be reached. Please be prepared with this information. 

All requests for inspections must be made at least one business day prior to the proposed inspection date.   

  • Please do not wait until the last minute to request inspections as your request may be bumped to the next business day as a result of a high number of requests.
  • You may also request either a morning (before Noon) or after Noon inspection for which we will do our best to accommodate (no guarantee). 

Please note that fire systems inspections need to be scheduled through the Shoreline Fire Department.

Prepare Your Site For Inspection

  • Ensure you are ready for an inspection 
  • The area to be inspected must be accessible  
  • Have your City-approved plans (stamped, intact with attachments) and permit card on site for each inspection. 
  • For a building Fire Investigation Report Inspection, call after the structure is stripped and debris is removed.
