Summer is heating up, and events are in full-swing.
The Shoreline Farmers Market opens on Saturday, June 3
Shoreline Park and Ride, N 192nd Street and Aurora Avenue N
The Shoreline Farmers Market offers a variety of fresh Washington produce and organic meats. The Market showcases local farms, artisans, and musicians. In a new location this year, the Market is open every Saturday, June 4 through October 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Get more information on the Market's Facebook page and website.
Northwest Neighbors Network helps seniors age well in their homes by providing volunteer services and events. Be sure to check out their active calendar each month.
The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Senior Center has opportunities for everyone to stay fit. From Line Dancing to Zumba, there are classes for all abilities and interests. Check out the schedule and register soon.

Chinese Panda Origami! Join our Chinese Scholar Fei Ke on campus for this fun 2-hour class for all ages! Professor Ke is from Sichuan, known as the home of pandas, and she will take you on a virtual tour to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Knowledge of pandas will be introduced and a fun quiz will follow to add interest. The winner of panda knowledge quiz will get a panda toy gift brought from China. The highlight of the workshop is panda crafting - to create your own 3D Panda origami with supplies and instructions provided. This workshop is good for students aged 13+ and adults of all ages! Age 8-12 students can attend with an adult. Fee course; registration required.

Art Cottage Residency Open Studio Time, Saturdays, June 3 and 10, 10 am – 6 pm

Artist Jacinthe Demmert will be weaving cedar bark wall hangings based on forms found on the shore of the Salish Sea. Come in and see fiber transforming to function as Jacinthe prepares and weaves Western Red Cedar bark into useable baskets.

Forest Bathing Meet-up with Ly Duong, Sundays, June 4, 10 – 11:30 am, and June 11, 1 – 2:30 pm

Ly Duong will guide participants on a 1.5 hour long practice in Forest Bathing, inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku. On these informal walks through the Garden you will: experience the restorative and healing power of slowing down and spending time in the natural world; learn practices to reconnect to the natural world to help cultivate peace and calm; and wander among spectacular trees and notice the magic and mystery all around you Register here for Ly’s walks and to learn more about Forest Bathing. Celebrate Pride at the Shoreline Farmers Market, Saturday, June 10, 10 am – 2 pm

All are welcome as the City of Shoreline hosts its first annual Pride celebration in partnership with the Shoreline Farmers Market. Shoreline Pride will kick off this celebration with a performance by Burn Out Brass Band (an all-Queer marching band). This is a free and fun community celebration to advance awareness of the LGBTQIA+ community and promote mutual respect and equal human rights for all. Bike, walk, bus, or drive and park. Wheelchair accessible event Visit your favorite farmers and makers, connect with LGBTQIA+ organizations, and visit the Pride lounge and selfie station. Are you being threatened by your landlord or property manager with eviction? How does one get evicted and what are the reasons and causes for an eviction? What is an unlawful detainer? How can I terminate my lease? Get information on tenant’s rights when confronted with an eviction or termination of their tenancy. Join Solid Ground tenant counselors along with legal representatives to give insight on what your tenant’s rights are under the RLTA. A visiting attorney from the Tenant Law Center will also be on hand to help with answering questions.

Meet at North side of Richmond Beach Community Park, next to tennis courts, 2201 NW 197th St.
We will start from Richmond Beach Community Park and work our way down to the waterfront. We will stop at Kayu Kayu Ac Park and then follow Richmond Beach Road south up the hill to Richmond Beach Saltwater Park and then back to our starting location. Come early to have time to find street parking. . Shoreline Walks are designed for adults ages 50+ but open to all ages and abilities, each walk is led by a Volunteer Walk Leader and all walks are free. No need to sign up, just show up at the meetup location and we'll take care of the rest! Friendly dogs on a leash are welcome to join. Juneteenth Celebration, Monday, June 19, 4 – 8:00 pm

Join us for Shoreline’s Inaugural city sponsored Juneteenth Celebration which includes performances by the Northside Step Team and the P.I - E.Pruitt and Maureese Itson Band (hosted by ShoreLake Arts), Black small business and food vendors, a guided Juneteenth mural stroll, and much more at this free, fun, community celebration. Juneteenth is an annual commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States and is a City of Shoreline holiday as well as a state and federal holiday. This holiday serves as a celebration of the progress attained by generations fighting for freedoms and rights, and highlights the resilience, solidarity, and culture of the Black community.

We will start from Richmond Beach Community Park and work our way down to the waterfront. We will stop at Kayu Kayu Ac Park and then follow Richmond Beach Road south up the hill to Richmond Beach Saltwater Park and then back to our starting location. Come early to have time to find street parking. . Shoreline Walks are designed for adults ages 50+ but open to all ages and abilities, each walk is led by a Volunteer Walk Leader and all walks are free. Join us for Shoreline’s Inaugural city sponsored Juneteenth Celebration which includes performances by the Northside Step Team and the P.I - E.Pruitt and Maureese Itson Band (hosted by ShoreLake Arts), Black small business and food vendors, a guided Juneteenth mural stroll, and much more at this free, fun, community celebration. Juneteenth is an annual commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States and is a City of Shoreline holiday as well as a state and federal holiday. This holiday serves as a celebration of the progress attained by generations fighting for freedoms and rights, and highlights the resilience, solidarity, and culture of the Black community.
