In addition to reducing emissions, we need to prepare our community for the impacts of climate change we are already seeing – like extreme heat, wildfire smoke, and flooding – and that are expected to get worse in coming decades. Join this double-header event to discuss strategies to ensure that everyone in our community is prepared to face these impacts, especially those who are most vulnerable. We’ll also discuss actions related to sequestration – the ability of forests and other ecosystems to remove carbon from the atmosphere, storing it in trees and soils. Join this session to discuss ways the City can support our urban forest and create healthy, carbon-rich ecosystems. The event will run from 6 – 8 pm on Zoom.
