Bridges, banners and bronze! In 2002, the Shoreline City Council adopted a 1% for Public Art Ordinance to ensure a means of expanding awareness and appreciation of art and cultural heritage, and enhancing the enjoyment of public places in the City of Shoreline. The City allocates 1% of the municipal capital construction dollars expended for structures, roads, sidewalks, trails, and parks to a special Public Art Fund for use on site, or pooled to create art opportunities in other locations over time.
View a public art map for information about each piece in the City's Collection, as well as artwork in public places but owned by others, to help you with a self-guided tour. Enjoy!
