The Human Services Task Force has convened in the development of a revised Human Services Strategy for adoption by the City Council. The Task Force was advisory to the Community Services’ Division, Human Services Program. The role of the Task Force was to review, comment and suggest changes to draft and plan materials prepared by an outside consultant and staff. The completed report was adopted by the City Council in February 2010.
The Task Force’s work included the following:

Updating the current Human Service Strategy to include funding and non-funding strategies to implement priorities among the fifteen desired outcomes that could be carried out over the next five to ten years.

Analyzing how changes noted in the updated socio-economic and demographic descriptors of the community may affect existing and future city policy.

Updating the criteria used for reviewing funding applications.

Laying the groundwork for the development of a Youth Master Plan in 2010.
