Fall Clean Sweep Recycling Event is September 25
Clean Sweep provides residents the opportunity to recycle and dispose of household items. Flyers will be mailed to all Shoreline residents with a list of items accepted. Bring flyer or CleanScapes invoice for entry into the event.

Aurora Corridor Project N 185th to N 192nd begins construction this year
The City of Shoreline expects to begin construction later this year for the N 185th to N 192nd Streets portion of the Aurora Corridor Project. Construction on this part of the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2011, weather permitting.

Community shares vision for Sunset School Park and Boeing Creek Open Space
With more than four months of public input, the community vision for Sunset School Park and Boeing Creek Open Space has been developed into draft master site plans. The vision will now be refined through a design process and eventual construction.

Fences required for swimming pools
In an effort to help prevent drowning accidents, Shoreline Property Maintenance Code requires that all swimming pools, spas and hot tubs containing water more than 24 inches in depth must be completely surrounded by a fence or barrier.

West Nile Virus risk increases in summer
Summer is mosquito and West Nile Virus (WNV) season. WNV is a mosquito-borne virus which can be spread through the bite of an infected mosquito. WNV can cause West Nile fever, encephalitis and meningitis.

Construction continues on Richmond Beach Overcrossing Bridge
Construction is moving forward on the Richmond Beach Bridge Replacement Project across 27th Avenue NW. The project will replace the aging timber bridge with a new, safer structure with increased load limits and seismic upgrades that should last 80 years or more.

New Expanded Plastics Recycling
Shoreline residents, multi-family facilities and businesses can now recycle more plastics. In addition to plastic bottles and pill bottles, items such as plastic food containers, plastic plant pots, plastic lids wider than 3 inches, and plastic cups are now accepted.

Proposition 1 Maintenance and Operations Levy

Shoreline signs contract for new Regional Animal Services program
On July 1, Shoreline Mayor Keith McGlashan ceremonially signed the service contracts for a new Regional Animal Services model to handle animal control, sheltering and licensing services. The new contract took effect July 1 and expires at the end of 2012.
